Cambridge Music Circle meets at 7:30pm each Monday, from September to June
(in term time),
at Chesterton Community College, Gilbert Road, Cambridge, UK.
Visitors and new members are always welcome! | Summer 2008 programme HERE
The CMC is a recorded music society, one of more than 200 in the UK affiliated to the Federation of Recorded Music Societies. At each weekly meeting we enjoy a programme of classical music on CD, usually presented by one of our members. Their choice of music is a personal one, of course; on one evening we might listen to familiar favourites, another time there'll be something entirely new, or a historic performance we find it's an excellent way to broaden our musical
horizons and learn.
Up to four times a year we enjoy a live
recital given by a local soloist or music group.
Our current programme is shown on the Programme page. The Typical Evenings page gives some examples of members' musical selections. And if you're wondering why on earth we would get together to listen to CDs when we could easily do so at home, read what some of our members think on the Why Join page...
Why not come along to a meeting? You don't need to be a classical music expert most of us simply enjoy listening but you'll be equally welcome if you are. Choosing to put on a programme (and it's certainly not compulsory!) is in itself
a good incentive to dig a little deeper into the music or its composer or performers. The cost is low (£22.00 per term, visitors £3.00 per meeting) and we're a
relaxed and friendly group. Please contact us if you need any more information.
